The proven standard carrier material for wooden elements of the DOMS examination units, the MDF, is a so-called wooden fibre material.
MDF boards have a particularly fine surface. The edges, which are smooth and hard as well, can be profiled.
That is the reason why MDF boards are perfectly well suited as base material for the production of examination units.
The following surface laminations are offered for MDF boards:
The surface lamination consists of a two-component synthetic varnish with a slightly structured performance. The surface is long-wearing, carefree and fitting for wiping disinfection.
The synthetic lamination can be supplied in the offered standard RAL colours. Optionally, tints from the RAL chart of colour range are available, e. g. the RAL chart of colour range, type K 1 classic – www.ral.de).
There may not be deducted any responsibilities regarding colours or brilliance from the chart of colour range, since colour differences could result from different ways of varnish production and pigmentation.
The carrier material is a MDF board laminated with real wooden veneer. Additionally, the vertical sides of the board are reinforced with a massive edge band of real wood (5mm) in the selections: beech, birch, maple, cherry or oak.
Multiplex boards are glued plywood boards consisting of several layers, which have a high form stability compared to massive wood or other types of plywood, being particularly fitting for the production of table boards.
The used Multiplex boards are laminated with real birch veneer and have a so-called Multiplex edge („Ildefonso-Effekt“).
Optionally, more veneers like birch, maple, cherry or oak are available. Should the customer desire an optional veneer, these are laminated on top of the birch veneer for manufacturing and technical reasons.
The real wood veneers are sealed with a four layered special protection varnish in very time-intensive working processes.
Please, keep in mind that the surfaces of real wood veneers may have a texture differing from the texture of real wood, since it is a natural product.
The base is a Multiplex board with birch veneer as well with a layer of Resopal applied on top. The vertical sides also have a so-called Multiplex edge („Ildefonsoeffekt).
For the past 75 years, the legendary brand Resopal has been one of the most popular surface materials in the area of decorative laminated materials.
In opposite to the wide-spread idea, Resopal is not a synthetic material. A Resopal board consists of nearly 80 % paper. Paper layers impregnated with carbolic and melamine resin, which is one of the hardest resins at all, are pressed to a homogeneous board by means of heat and high pressure. The result is a surface material with the well-known good characteristics regarding maintenance and usage.
One of the remarkable features of the material LG HI-MACS is its texture similar to natural stone. LG HI-MACS consists of an acrylic base material and set natural minerals (75%) as well as pigments. Six years of research and development have been crowned by a highly sophisticated material with extraordinary surface characteristics.
According to the manufacturer, the material is resistant against bacteria and chemicals, thus, providing ideal conditions for the usage in highly strained environments. The surface without any gaps makes cleaning and sterilisation absolutely easy which is an extreme advantage in hygienically sensitive areas. Last but not least, the extraordinary and exclusive look of the surfaces should be mentioned. More than 60 colour variations can be supplied.
