In 1998 Manfred Doms founded Doms Medizintechnik, starting with the development and manufacturing of examination units for the Ophthalmologists, as well as with an LED vision device for driver license checks. The CEO of today’s DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY has acquired his extensive know-how in this area from his many years of experience as Manager of Development for Optoelectronic systems with Zeiss-Jena.

In past years, DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY was respected in the industry as a quality and specialized manufacturer in its area of high tech Ophthalmic products. With 27 qualified and highly motivated employees it has become is a leading manufacturer of modern examination units for refraction and diagnosis, which are successfully used in ophthalmic offices and clinics as well as by Opticians’ offices and by Optometrists.

Now with more than 4000 DOMS examination units, instrument tables, patient chairs, vision tests and other OEM products in use worldwide, DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY is becoming a household name in the field.

For many years the offices of DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY are located on the former site of Zeiss Medizintechnik in Saalfeld, Germany (1998 – 2011). 2011Manfred Doms acquired the former post office building in Saalfeld. The complex was complete reconstructed to the latest standards. In January 2012 DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY moved to the Langenschader Strasse 67, 07318 Saalfeld (industrial area “An der Heide”).The plot of land with an area of 13.000 m² and the ground-level 2000 m² building complex offer excellent conditions for future activities of DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY. Production & administration are now advantageous on one level.

The offices of DOMS EYE-TECHNOLOGY are located on the former site of Zeiss Medizintechnik in Saalfeld, Germany. This is in the immediate vicinity of the Zeiss Jena, an area known for its excellent technology and highly qualified labor base, an ideal setting for quick and expert product development as well as the subsequent advanced production of these high tech devices. During the production process we communicate with our cooperation partners via the latest 3D-CAD construction software and CNC controlled machines thus warranting highest precision during manufacturing.
